SHANAYA'S POV

" May I help you?", he asked with the expression I am unable to understand.

"Yes", before i realized the word left my mouth. My heart beat stumbled as he stepped closer. His cologne consumed me.

" Turn around", he said with a deep commanding voice.

I slowly turned around, his fingers brushed my shoulder to move my hair aside.

Goosebumps erupted, I tried to act unaffected but failed miserably. Years of silent worship is finally paying off.

My head barely reaches his shoulder giving me a reminder how easily he can wrap me in his arms. "Done", his voice pulled me out of my trance.

I left the room but my heart beat didn't settled. Tonight there is a small reception, nothing grand , a simple gathering with our close family members.

The day passed quickly I didn't go back to his room again. But now I have to change into my reception outfit.

I walked into the room with slow and steady steps , he is still working with his laptop. He should've married that laptop instead. "Adhrik" I called him . His gaze met mine. His eyes look heavy and tired.

" Huh? Do you want something?", he asked in a concerning tone. " I have to change, could please wait outside" I said without looking at him. He immediately closed his laptop and went outside without saying a word.

Aarushi already gave me a deep maroon saree with a perfect grand and classy look downstairs. I changed as quickly as I could.

I noticed there was a small jar of rash cream on the vanity table.

It was not there before. He must have kept it here. His gesture was simple yet it carried so much care. A smile curved my lips and i applied the cream on my neck. I quickly did my makeup.

" Woah, Shaanu you look beautiful" Aarushi said while entering the room. " You look beautiful too" , I complimented her in return with a smile.

" I am so tired these days , we need a break" she said lazily. For over a month there hasn't been a single day without hurry.

" Let's go to beauty spa once everything settled down okay?" I said. She smiled at me we are walking to downstairs talking.

Adhrik appeared from the other side we both stopped in our tracks and shared a deep glance.

" Hello love birds" Aarushi clapped between us while I drew my attention back.

" Not now" she took my hand and dragged me downstairs with her.

Soon the mansion filled with guests. My mumma and papa arrived with my brother . My parents hugged me dearly. " It's only been a day and we miss you already", papa said.

"Our house doesn't feel the same without you beta", my mother said kissing my cheeks.

" This monkey is acting all shy now, where is my best friend, Don't tell me you scared him off already", my brother said sarcastically. I raised my hand to hit him.

"Shut up", a deep voice came from the back. ADHRIK is standing there in a black tuxedo , looking effortlessly handsome.

" Wow, you're already on her side? Huh? " , my brother ranted again.

Adhrik ignored him and came forward to touch my parents feet and greeted them .

With his every action he grew impossibly more attractive.

My parents went to greet my in laws and got busy talking. Adhrik and my brother are discussing something. Maybe work.

Arushi and I got busy with the guests. The special attention towards me sometimes made me uncomfortable. But it will be over soon.

A girl with a loud voice caught my attention - She is hugging Adhrik .

" Sorry, I missed your wedding and I missed you" , she said. Instead of hugging her back, he gently pushed her and offered a handshake.

" It's okay shreya" , he said forcing a smile.

" Who is that girl? Why is she acting like that? ( Translation: Who is that bitch? Why is she clinging to my husband? ) , I asked Aarushi while my hand tightened around the juice glass I am holding and I almost broke it

" Oh, she is Shreya, she is our choti bua' s daughter. They planned to marry bhaiyya with her, but he rejected " , Aarushi said.

Jealousy consumed me but I couldn't do anything. I am not there yet to express my jealousy.

" Don't worry , bhaiyya knows how to keep them in their place", Aarushi assured me after she noticed my face.

Adhrik looked at me , we both locked out eyes for a second. He immediately withdrew his hand from Shreya's hand.

My brother noticed the tension in the air. He laughed and said , "Adhrik, we have to go somewhere,now if you please excuse us ", he gestured Shreya. They both left ,leaving her alone.

The night went by, I'm exhausted. Soon every body started to leave. Adhrik hasn't returned yet. Aarushi helped me to quickly organise the mess I made to get ready.

I landed on the bed. Many thoughts lingered my head but I decided to keep them aside and sleep tonight.
