AUTHOR'S POV

Adhrik finished his work early, eager to reach home. By the time he reached, Aarushi was already there, chatting with their mother.

"You came already, where is Shanaya?", with a question on his lips Adhrik's eyes scanned the room.

"She didn't come", Aarushi with a serious expression on her face, tried to tease him.

"What? But Why? I will go get her", he turned his heels again towards the door.

"Arey bhaiyya, she is in your room", Aarushi nearly laughed at his antics.

"You! I will see you later", he glared at Aarushi, and he began to climb the stairs, two at a time.

"Maa, for someone who doesn't want to get married, don't you think he is acting like a love sick puppy?".

The mother and daughter duo couldn't help but laugh at Adhrik's desperation.

SHANAYA'S POV

"Why are you panting like that?", a concerning tone left my mouth.

" I_ it's nothing , I wanted to see you", he said , leaving me stunned.

" What?"

"I_ I saw Aarushi downstairs, so I wanted to see you"

Why does he look confused around me all the time.

"Oh ... We just came an hour ago", I started to organise my things again.

He just stood there looking at me.

"Do you want to say something", if he doesn't talk, I will. I can't read his expressions all the time.

"Don't move from here, I will just change and come okay?"

"O_okayy" before I could finish my word He rushed to the changing room.

He definitely hit his head somewhere.

He came with the same small bag I saw yesterday at the mall. "This is for you", he is trying so hard to smile but looking nervous.

" I have already told you , you don't need to_"

" No, I'm sorry , I shouldn't have behaved with you like that", his eyes looked genuine.

"It's okay , don't worry about it ", I don't want to taunt him more. I accepted the bag in his hand.

" You don't deserve that , I'm so sorry ", concern in his eyes made me sad.

"It's okay, really , but don't shout at me like that".

" I will never do that again , I promise."

This time I smiled genuinely , maybe he doesn't love me the way I did but he is caring.

"So...." , he paused for a moment.

"Let's be friends", i extended my hand to him, hoping he would accept it.

"Sorry?", he asked confused.

Did I made a mistake?.

"Oh I'm sorry, I forgot about the commitment part", why do I have to embarrass myself like this.

I'm about to lower my hand when he held it.

"Okay, let's be friends ".

The next morning when I woke up, he wasn't there.

Okay Shanaya , enough of crying now you have to concentrate on your studies more I said to myself. It's been almost a month and now I'm returning to university.

I quickly did my chores. I wore a crisp white kurti set, feeling light and comfortable.

The door opened and Adhrik stood there for a moment looking at me.

A smile curved on his lips as he said "good morning".

I smiled back politely "good morning".

He finally moved ,sat on the bed but his eyes never left me.

Feeling awkward I checked in the mirror, everything is fine then why is he looking at me like that.

"You haven't opened the bag yet", he pointed towards the small bag he gave me yesterday on the vanity table.

I immediately took it and opened it , revealing the watch I admired yesterday at the mall .

" Thank you" , my eyes met him , smiling Adhrik is something else.

"So... Aren't you gonna wear it? ", he asked casually.

"I'm going to university now, sooo"

"Soo, what's the problem?", his smile fade away while asking.

" Nothing", I didn't argued more and wore it.

It's really beautiful.

"I'm going to drop you at your University, wait for me"

"No, it's okay I will go with Aarushi ".

" No, I want to drop you, so wait for me"

I stayed silent as he walked towards the shower room.

He suddenly stopped in his tracks , looked at me,

"Sei davvero bella, mia donna"

(You are really beautiful,my woman in Italian)

" Doughnut what?" Did he just called me doughnut?,

A chuckle left his lips , he didn't answer my question and just walked away.

Oh my god do I look like a doughnut to him.
